People who had leprosy were required to stay away from other people and to announce their presence if they had to come hear. Sometimes leprosy went into remission. If a leper thought his leprosy had gone away, he was supposed to present himself to a priest who could declare him clean.
Jesus sent the ten lepers to the priest BEFORE they were healed – and they went! (Luke 17,14). Is your trust in God so strong that you act on what He says even before you see evidence that it will work?
Faith is a total dependence on God and a willingness to do His will. Faith is not something we use to put on a show for others; it is complete and humble obedience to God’s will, readiness to do whatever He calls us to do.
If we have obeyed GOD, we have only done our duty and we should regard it as a privilege. Do you sometimes feel that you deserve extra credit for serving God? Obedience is our duty. “When you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty’”(Luke 17, 10)
