THE UNIQUENESS OF THE CHRISTIAN GOD.

1. He is above the gods of other religions (Psalm 86:8). As great as You are, and as small as we are, we revel in the fact that You run the universe and still You live in our hearts.

2. Our God bends low enough to hear our voices (86:1).  We cherish the thought that our God bends low enough and gives us a chance to reach high enough that we can get together as partners.

3. He protects, preserves, and sustains us (86:2). We have no right to our own lives. Freely we have received from You, and just as freely we want to give everything to You.

4. Our God provides forgiveness for us (86:5). We can never cease praising You for becoming like we are, so we can become like what You are; for giving us a chance to be forgiven and be forgiving.

5. He extends mercy and grace in our behalf (86:5). We thank You for Your rescuing, salvaging, redeeming mercy. We are always awed by the mystery of Your mercy, but  the reality of it is ours to enjoy.

6. Our God is our teacher and guid ( 86:11).  We are honored to be workers together with You in this enterprise of engineering character. Help us to follow Your blueprints skillfully.

7. Our God id a sharing God (86:15-16). God makes not only His strength available, but His love, His glory, His peace, His joy, His grace, His presence, His resources.
