brizy thumbSR100 100  THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE AND THE MEANING OF PEACE IN "NO MAN'S LAND".

"NO MAN'S LAND",  the space  between the trenches turned into a space of unexpected meaning, which seems to accompany the Christmas mistery. In the days leading up to Christmas, the exhausted soldiers, compelled to fight for the political causes of their respective countries, sudden began to see another pattern, a restoration of meaning. The "No man's land" became "Every man's land", of human solidarity, a renewal of culture, and religious faith.

A hundred years later, in Christmas 2014, we still hear the noise, rumblings, and rumers of wars. Peace wasn't expected to come to Palestine 2,000 years ago, but it did - that is, Christ came in a king of "no man's land", outside the inn, in which every person finds welcome. (David  Swartz)
