Sf.Voievod Ștefan cel Mare + 2 iulie 1504.
"Atletul creștinătății", cum l-a numit papa Sixt al 6-lea, în cei 47 de ani de domnie a ctitorit 44 de biserici și mănăstiri.
Slujirea Sfintei Biserici era o ratiune a existenței sale.
Nenumarate documente ale cancelariei domneşti stau marturie peste veacuri: "Io Stefan Voievod, din mila lui Dumnezeu domn al Țǎrii Moldovei, care arzînd de dumnezeiasca credințǎ și iubire a cuvîntului lui Dumnezeu fiind ...".
În pisania bisericii mari din Mǎnǎstirea Neamțu, din 1497, citim: "Doamne Hristoase, primește biserica aceasta, pe care am zidit-o cu ajutorul Tǎu, întru slava și cinstea Sfintei şi slǎvitei Tale Înǎlțǎri de la pǎmînt la cer; și Tu, Stǎpîne, acoperǎ-ne cu mila Ta de acum şi pînǎ în veac. Io Stefan Voievod ...".

"The athlete of Christianity", as Pope Sixtus VI called him, in the 47 years of his reign he founded 44 churches and monasteries.
Serving the Holy Church was a reason for his existence.
Countless documents of the princely chancellery bear witness over the centuries: "I Stefan Voivode, by the mercy of God, lord of the Country of Moldavia, who burning with divine faith and love of the word of God being ...".
In the inscription of the great church in Neamtu Monastery, from 1497, we read: "Lord Christ, receive this church, which I have built with Your help, in the glory and honor of Your Holy and glorious Ascension from earth to heaven; and You, Master, cover us with Your mercy from now on and forever. I, Stefan Voievod...".
