THE VALUE OF THE WORD OF THE LORD (contin).
1. The word enables us to make the right use of "Good grief"(Psalm 119:71). May we place a wide-angle lens on our spiritual eyes, so we can properly interpret the experiences that come to us daily.
2. The Word lets us know who we are ( 119:73). We are greatful for the comprehensive self-understanding and identity You give us in Your Word. May we live at the highest level of our capabilities.
3. The Word provides hope (119:81). May we avoid fainting by maintaining a high level of hope. Our hope is strengthened when we see in Your Word who You are, and the way You are working.
4. It gives us something permanent to buid on (119:89). We are thrilled to risk our lives, our future, our everything on the Word of the Lord. Help us to build on this unshakable and immovable foundation.
5. The Word is a source of guidance ( 119:105). As we close the gap between where we are and where we are going, we not only need the light of Your Word for the steps we take each moment, but the light from our heavenly home to make sure we are going in the right direction.
6. It brings illumination and understanding (119:130). May we keep our minds open, our hearts receptive, our wills tender to the guidance You provide through Your Word. May we discover Your hidden and secret truths.
7. The Word insulates against being offended (119:165). May we keep such a cleansing, purifying love for You that we shall be delivered from offenses, and from being defensive or apologetic.
