THE DELIVERING GOD.
1. He will deliver us from perverse people (140:1). May we have a forgiving spirit regardless of what the other person does. We cannot determine what his attitude will be, but we can determine ours.
2. He deliver us from destructive people (140:4). In the light of Your example and provision, may we master the art of handeling all misunderstandings that arise in surprising places and from surprising sources.
3. He brings deliverance in the day of battle (140:7). May we keep cool heads, warm hearts, steady hands, and go forward with triumphant step in this careening, revolutionary, and fermenting world.
4. He brings deliverance from (or in ) our affliction (140:12). May we not be creatures of the moment but sons of eternity, so we can interpret the experinces of today as a part of Your "Big Picture" for us.
5. He delivers us from the shock of emergencies (141:1). We do not know what is in the making for today, but give us a supply of preventive grace, so we will be ready when the time of need arises.
6. He delivers us from sharp words (141:3). We thank Your for taking our most uncontrollable member and turning it into our most constructive member. May our words be acceptable to You.
7. He delivers us from the wrong use of our eyes (141:8). May we fix our eyes on You, so we can lose sight of all besides; may we be so enchained by our vision of You that we'll be transformed into Your likeness.
