The Time.
The time is given 1 A.D., as the backstrike of the pendulum of God's big timepiece,
for all that came before was in preparation for the event.
The Lamb of God would make the "once-and-for all" sacrifice.
After the events of Calvary, mankind would experience renewed relationship with the Father by looking back and accepting the work of the Son.
"It is finished" are the words on the Cross that fill the heart of every believer with joy and appreciation.
"The fullness of the time" (Galatians 4:4) could not have been more bleak.
The once proud, powerful nation of Israel, Palestine served a forein ruler.
Arrogant and unscrupulous leaders vied for position and power;
corrupt alliances, treasons, treachery and vice were on every hand.
Even many of the Jewish religious leaders had sold out to power and prosperity.
People were tired and depressed. They had waited 'too long' for the Messiah - the Savior to rescue them from their oppressors. Simple, humble-hearted believers still were praying, watching, hoping, and waiting for the coming of the promise Messiah.
