JESUS PRESENTED IN THE TEMPLE ( Luke 2:21) CHRISTOLOGY - THE FULLNESS OF TIME (7)

  THE PERSON OF THE CHRIST  (CHRISTOLOGY). 

Jesus is the one in whom God has decisively acted for us and for our salvation: "In Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself" (2 Cor.  5:19).

Each Gospel has its own portrait of Jesus:

- Mark emphasizes the messianic secret : Jesus messiahship is hidden on earth, and can be confessed only after the cross and resurrection.

- For Matthew, Jesus is the new Moses; as such, He gives  the definitive interpretation of the Law and founds a church, the true Israel.

- for Luke, Jesus is the end- time prophet who shows human sympathy and compassion for the poor, for the outcast and the sick, and for women.

- for John,  Jesus is the incarnate revealer whose revelation, when received, confer salvation (Paul S. Minear).
