Duminică 14 aprilie. Predica de pe munte (Matei 5).

„Dacă tot ce a făcut Domnul nostru Iisus Hristos ar fi să ne țină Predica de pe Munte și Regula de Aur, El ne-ar fi crescut de fapt frustrarea. Puțini dintre noi le pot păstra în mod constant.
Problema noastră nu a fost niciodată să nu știm ce ar trebui să facem.
Problema noastră, mai degrabă, a fost să lipsească puterea, capacitatea de a face ceea ce știm că este util, moral, bun, drept, cinstit și amabil.
Domnul nostru nu doar a predat Regula de Aur. A venit să ne ajute să-o păstrăm.
Aceasta este, în esență, distincția majoră dintre creștinism și alte religii.
Domnul Hristos ne oferă puterea Sa de a trăi așa cum ar trebui, ne oferă iertarea ca un dar gratuit.
Putem să o luăm de la capăt.
El face ceva pentru noi, ceea ce noi nu putem face pentru noi înșine.” (Paul Little).

"If all Our Lord Jesus Christ  did was give us the Sermon on the Mount and the Golden Rule, He would have actually increased our frustration. Few of us can consistently keep these.
Our problem has never been not knowing what we should do.
Our problem, rather, has been laking the power, the ability, to do what we know is helpful, moral, good, just, honest and kind.
Our Lord not only taught the Golden Rule; He came to help us keep it.
This is essentially the major distinction between Christianity and other religions.
He offers us His power to live as we should, gives us forgiveness as a free gift.
We can start over again.
He does something for us we cannot do for ourselves." (Paul Little)
