The Law of Christ. A New Man (4)
"I do not buid up again things that I tore down.
Through the Mosaic law I died to the law, that I might live for God.
I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me.
I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me.
If justification comes through the Mosaic law, then Christ died for nothing" (Galatians 2:19).
- The Mosaic law revealed sin (Rom 7, 7) and led to death and then to belief in Christ;
- It brought the insight that law cannot justify;
- It put Christ to death and so provided a way to our salvation,
through baptism into Christ, through which we die (crucified with Christ) and we live.
